Ronaldo, just recovered from injuries, fires two goals to win Al-Nassr vs Al-Najma clash

RIYADH: The global football star Cristiano Ronaldo, CR7, shined his side with a three-goal surplus victory over Al-Najma after the Al-Nassr star provided a two goal blow to their opponents in the Saudi Pro League.

CR7 performed his two goal after taking a one-month long break following a hamstring injury being sustained in the late February month. He picked up the hamstring tendon injury during Al‑Nassr’s 3–1 Saudi Pro League win over Al‑Fayha. He was visibly uncomfortable and had to be substituted in the 81st minute of that match.

During this period, the super star of the Portugal couldn’t feature two valuable league games and Portugal’s international friendlies against Mexico and the US.

The Portugal forward struck twice in the second half to reach 23 goals in the same number of league games for his club this season.

Followng the win, the 41-year-old marked the win with a celebratory Instagram update, as he posted a carousel of clicks from the match with the caption, noting, “It’s good to be back. We move forward together!”

He and and the team’s forward Sadio Mane scored their second goals to seal victory after Ronaldo converted a 56th-minute penalty to restore his side’s lead after the visitors equalised.

On Saturday, a 13th consecutive league win for Al-Nassr extended their lead at the top of the table to six points over second-placed Al-Hilal, who play Al-Taawoun.
