RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan etched his name into the record books after becoming the first Pakistani batsman to smash 100 sixes in T20 cricket within a single calendar year. The milestone came during Pakistan’s seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the tri-nation T20 series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Opening the innings, Farhan delivered a commanding performance, scoring an unbeaten 80 off 45 balls, featuring five sixes and six fours. His explosive batting not only powered Pakistan to a comfortable win but also secured his place in T20 history.

Sri Lanka, batting first, managed 128 for 7 in their 20 overs. Pakistan chased down the target with ease, reaching 129 for 3 in just 15.3 overs, thanks to Farhan’s match-winning knock.

Farhan’s achievement marks a significant milestone for Pakistan cricket, highlighting his remarkable consistency and power-hitting form throughout the year.

Last night (Saturday), Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the third match of the Tri-Nation T20 series, with opener Sahibzada Farhan playing a brilliant innings of 80 runs.

In the match played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan’s bowlers restricted the visiting team to a modest total of 128-7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Sri Lanka’s openers, Pathum Nissanka and Kamil Mishara, scored 17 and 22 runs respectively before being dismissed, while Kusal Perera made 25 before falling to Muhammad Nawaz. Janith Liyanage resisted with an unbeaten 41 off 38 balls.

All-rounder Muhammad Nawaz produced an impressive bowling performance, taking three wickets for just 16 runs, while Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, and Salman Mirza claimed one wicket each.
