Sanam Javed acquitted in May 9 related case

Sanam Javed

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has acquitted Sanam Javed, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist, in a case related to the events of May 9.

A two-member bench led by Justice Asjad Javed Gharal conducted the hearing and ruled to dismiss the charges against Javed in Gujranwala.

Initially arrested in Lahore, Javed faced multiple cases across different cities stemming from the May 9 riots.

Despite being granted bail by several courts, she was repeatedly re-arrested upon release.

Speaking informally to the media during a recent appearance at the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, Javed asserted that false cases no longer bothered her.

She emphasized that the charges against her and the party’s founder were politically motivated attempts to silence them.

Javed confidently stated that such actions would only serve to highlight the unsubstantiated nature of the allegations, predicting that they would all soon be exonerated.
