Sanam Javed allowed to contest Senate elections

LAHORE: The Appellate Tribunal of Lahore High Court (LHC) has accepted the appeal filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed and allowed her to contest the Senate elections.
The tribunal accepted Sanam Javed’s appeal against the rejection of nomination papers.
LHC Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan of the tribunal pronounced a reserved verdict.
Nomination papers of Murad Saeed, Azam Swati rejected for senate elections
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had rejected the nomination papers of Sanam Javed for contesting senate elections.
Sanam Javed had submitted her nomination papers for the reserved seat for women in the Senate. Her nominations were rejected due to not providing the required documents to the Returning Officer Ijaz Chohan on the objections.
The court annulled the decision of the ECP.
On Thursday an appellate tribunal had reserved its verdict on an appeal filed by Sanam Javed Khan against the rejection of her nomination papers for the Senate elections.
