Sara Inam murder case: Shahnawaz denies murdering wife, labels all evidence ‘baseless’

Sara Inam murder case

ISLAMABAD: Shahnawaz Amir, the prime suspect in Sara Inam’s murder case, rejected all evidence submitted by the prosecution and called them ‘baseless’.

Amir was presented before the Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana on Wednesday.

Shahnawaz also said that on the night of the incident, his mother prepared dinner for three of them. “We all ate together, chatted a lot, and then went to sleep. Sara got up from sleep and went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I was asleep at the time. I woke up at 7am and went to F-8 Market to get breakfast,” said Amir.

He further said when he came back at 9am,  Sarah was not in the room and upon searching he found Sara lying in the bathtub. When I saw Sara, she was already dead.

Following Shahnawaz’s statement, the judge inquired whether he had any additional evidence to offer for his defence. In response, the main accused appealed to the court for an extension of time until the upcoming hearing.

As a result, the court postponed the proceedings until November 1st.
