Sarah Paulson honoured with Hollywood Walk of Fame star: “Dreams really do come true”

Sarah Paulson

Sarah Paulson has officially cemented her place in Hollywood history. The Emmy and Tony winning actor received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 2 December, celebrating the milestone with the people who have shaped her life on and off screen, including Ryan Murphy, Holland Taylor, Niecy Nash Betts and Amanda Peet.

The ceremony felt less like a formal industry tribute and more like a warm gathering of longtime collaborators. Murphy joked that he never created roles for Paulson to be kind, but because he was simply a fan who wanted to see what she would do next. Taylor, Paulson’s partner, spoke about her emotional fearlessness as an actor, describing her as someone who brings fierce humanity to the misunderstood characters she plays.

The placement of Paulson’s star beside Murphy’s added an emotional touch to an already heartfelt moment.

When she took the stage, Paulson delivered a moving speech about ambition, identity and the unexpected paths a career can take. She recalled being a teenager watching Pretty Woman and imagining a future like Julia Roberts’, only to discover that her own journey would follow a very different, uniquely personal road.

“I was already walking a road uniquely mine,” she said. “This honour tells every dreamer out there that dreams can come true.”

She thanked her family, long-time friends, the crews she has worked with, and Murphy for giving her the opportunities that shaped her career.

What’s next for Sarah Paulson

Paulson’s star arrives during a major career moment. She is set to portray serial killer Aileen Wuornos in season four of Netflix’s Monster, return to American Horror Story in season 13, and star in the film adaptation of Clybourne Park.
