Saturday update: gold price in Pakistan reaches new historic high

ISLAMABAD: Gold prices on Saturday, continued to rise in Pakistan, with the price per tola reaching a historic high of Rs266,300.

According to the latest data released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10 grams of gold also increased by Rs343, reaching Rs228,309.

The rise in gold prices in Pakistan can be attributed to an increase in the international bullion market, where gold prices have risen by $11 to reach $2,577 per ounce.

On Friday, the price of gold per tola had risen by Rs2,900, indicating a growing demand for gold as a safe-haven asset.
