RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Thursday killed 13 militants in two separate foiled infiltration attempts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
In Mohmand district, troops detected movement of a group attempting to cross the border and effectively engaged them, killing eight militants.
In another operation in North Waziristan, security forces foiled a second infiltration attempt after an intense exchange of fire, neutralising five more militants.
The district statement also said that clearance operations are underway in the affected areas to clear any remaining threats.
The ISPR added that Pakistan remains committed to securing its borders and continuing counter-terrorism operations under the national strategy to eliminate militancy from the country.
