
Sindh Interior Minister visits Huawei HQ in China

SHENZHEN: The Interior Minister of Sindh, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, embarked on a visit to the headquarters of Chinese tech giant, Huawei Technology Limited, in Shenzhen.
The purpose of the visit was to conduct an in-depth review and receive a briefing on the cutting-edge technology and equipment earmarked for the Karachi Safe City initiative.

The project is an important component of the Sindh government’s strategy to bolster security and improve technological infrastructure in the province.
During his engagement with Huwei, Lanjar talked about his strong belief in the capabilities of the company’s modern technology and security solutions.
Huawei is now considered as a frontrunner in telecommunications and information technology.
The minister’s discussions with the Huawei officials focused on the provision of advanced equipment that is considered crucial in the implementation of the Karachi Safe City project.
The Karachi Safe City project aims to create a ‘safer’ urban environment by integrating sophisticated surveillance systems, efficient emergency response frameworks and comprehensive data analytics.
As part of his visit, Lanjar toured Huawei’s assembly line, where he observed the production of LTE and network equipment.
He expressed satisfaction with the high standards of performance and quality achieved through the automated manufacturing processes.

Meanwhile, Huawei officials assured the Sindh Interior Minister of ‘unwavering’ support for the Safe City project, and promised to provide the necessary resources and expertise for its successful rollout.
