Small plane crashes on Florida highway, woman injured


WEB DESK: A small aircraft made an emergency landing on a Florida highway, crashing onto a car and injuring the driver, U.S. media reported.

The single-engine Beechcraft 55 was carrying two people when the pilot reported an engine malfunction and attempted an emergency landing. Unfortunately, the plane struck a Toyota Camry, seriously injuring the 57-year-old female driver, who was shifted to a hospital. Both the pilot and his passenger escaped unharmed.

Footage of the accident circulated widely on social media, showing the plane lodged on the highway median with debris scattered across the roadway.

In a separate incident in Florida, another small aircraft crash-landed near DeLand High School on Plymouth Avenue, leaving two people injured.

These accidents highlight the risks associated with emergency landings of small aircraft in populated areas, prompting authorities to review safety measures for private flights over highways and urban zones.
