Smog emergency: What will be closed in Punjab from Friday?

LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced a 4-day smog holiday in Lahore and other cities of the province starting from Thursday, November 9, due to hazardous smog conditions, in addition to observing a public holiday for Iqbal Day.

According to the Punjab government’s notification, the holiday due to will be observed in Lahore Division, Kasur, Wazirabad, and Nankana.

To address the detrimental effects of smog, a smog emergency has been declared in Punjab.”

As per the Punjab government notification, the holiday will be observed in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Gujranwala and Hafizabad.

What will be open and closed on Friday in Lahore and other cities observing the smog holiday?

• Markets will also be closed on Saturday.
• Restaurants will be closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Cinemas will also be closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
