Soaring egg prices hit skies in Lahore

LAHORE: The prices of farm eggs surged by an additional Rs2 today, catapulting the price of a dozen eggs to an unprecedented Rs394 in Lahore.

Despite the official wholesale rate being established at Rs11,700 per crate, shopkeepers persist in imposing exorbitant charges, with eggs reaching an alarming high of over Rs460 per dozen in the market.
