Notification issued for extension of winter vacations for nursery, prep classes in Punjab

LAHORE: The Government of the Punjab School Education department has issued notification regarding the extension of winter holidays till January 19, 2024 for class Nursery, Prep and below in ‘wake of cold weather and resultant outbreak of pneumonia among young children.’

The latest notification issued by the School Education Department on January 10 has made masks mandatory for teachers, students, and all employees in schools across Punjab.

The notification about the school closure in Punjab issued today further said that students will be allowed to wear any warm clothing other than uniform for protection against cold.

The latest notification regarding winter vacations further states that morning assemblies and all outdoor activities will remain suspended in schools until January 31, 2024.

“No examination of any kind shall be conducted till January, 19 2024,” it read further.

However, the notification does not provide any information regarding the extension of winter holidays for classes above nursery and prep up to matric.
