South Korea: 78,000 vehicles recalled by several automakers

SEOUL: Three automotive companies in South Korea voluntarily decided to recall around 78,000 vehicles due to different identified defects.
According to reports, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport in South Korea confirmed that BMW, Volvo and Honda had to recall a combined 78,000 vehicles.

BMW Korea recalled 68,428 vehicles spanning 62 distinct models, including the widely recognised BMW 520i. The vehicles were recalled due to concerns abut integrated braking system, posing safety risks for riders.
Meanwhile, Volvo Trucks announced a recall of 6,998 units from four different models, including their famous FH tractor. The recall from Volvo is due to a design defect in the variable axle control system, which may affect the vehicle’s handling and safety.

Similarly, Honda Motors recalled 2.792 units of its Genesis Coupe due to a malfunctioning clutch pedal. The defect reacquires repairs to ensure the vehicle functions properly and safely.
Owners of the affected vehicles were asked to visit authorised service centres, where they can obtain free replacements in place of the original faulty ones.
