Spate of crime incidents reported in Karachi

KARACHI: A fire broke out in a car in Saeedabad, a residential neighbourhood in Karachi, Sindh on Tuesday night.

According to reports, firefighters reached the site and managed to put out the fire with help from citizens.

Meanwhile, unknown assailants opened gunfire at a car in Karachi. The passengers, a husband and wife, were injured.

According to the police, the injured man was riding with his wife when the incident occurred. The couple was taken to a local hospital to treat their gunshot wounds.

In another incident, an alleged police encounter took place near the furniture market in Liaquatabad.

As per the local police, one of the accused was arrested while injured. Rescue officials present on the scene said that the accused was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

A woman passer-by lost her life when a car struck her near the superhighway in Karachi.

According to the rescue officials present on the scene, the body of the 65-year-old woman was shifted to the morgue.

Police encounter in Hyderabad

Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, an alleged police encounter occurred between the local police and armed assailants near a school.

As per police reports, an accused was arrested while his accomplice managed to escape. The accused was injured during the encounter and is currently undergoing treatment.
