Stormy spell ahead: NDMA warns of thunderstorms, hail in multiple regions


Rain and hailstorm lash Islamabad, more showers forecast

A fresh spell of unstable weather is expected across multiple regions of Pakistan, with authorities warning of thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible hailstorms over the next 24 hours.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert, cautioning that changing weather patterns could trigger severe conditions in several parts of the country. Officials have urged residents to remain vigilant, particularly in areas prone to strong winds and hail.

Going region by region, Strong winds and thunderstorms are forecast in several districts of Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Gujar Khan, Jhelum and Sialkot.

Meanwhile, rain accompanied by strong winds and thundershowers is expected in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Layyah and Sahiwal, with isolated hailstorms also possible.

Up north, rain with thunderstorms is also likely in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. Affected areas include Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, Nagar, Ghizer, Diamer, Astore, Ghanche, Shigar and Kharmang.

In Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Haveli, Poonch, Rawalakot, Kotli, Mirpur and Bhimber, similar weather conditions are expected.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several districts are likely to receive rain and thunderstorms, including Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Malam Jabba and Dir.
