Swat rattled by 4.7 magnitude earthquake

WEB DESK: On Wednesday evening, Swat and its surrounding areas experienced tremors due to an earthquake, as reported by seismic monitoring agencies.

The recorded magnitude of the earthquake registered at 4.7 on the Richter scale, indicating a noticeable seismic impact.

Reports from geological authorities reveal that the earthquake’s epicentre was situated along the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region.

The depth of the seismic activity was measured at 97 kilometres, adding to the intensity of the tremors felt in Swat and neighbouring areas.

Local residents reported feeling the ground shake as the earthquake unfolded, prompting concerns about potential aftershocks.

There are currently no reports of significant damage or casualties, but emergency response teams are on standby to address any unforeseen consequences.
