ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Saturday that Pakistan was “shining” globally while neighbouring India faced “failure and embarrassment”.
Addressing an event in Islamabad marking “Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq”, Pakistan’s official day of remembrance for the 2025 India-Pakistan conflict, Tarar said that Pakistan had established its standing internationally at both diplomatic and military levels, adding that countries around the world took pride in their ties with Islamabad.
“Across the eastern border, there is nothing but isolation, failure and disgrace,” he said, contrasting what he described as Pakistan’s rising global profile with conditions in India.
Tarar accused India of failing to condemn incidents of militancy in Pakistan and reiterated allegations that Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav had been involved in such activities, saying he was caught “red-handed.”
He said that Pakistan had emerged as a proponent of peace following what he termed “success” in a recent conflict, adding that the battle was fought on diplomatic fronts as well.
Referring to the Pahalgam incident, Tarar said that India had failed to provide evidence when asked, and accused New Delhi of promoting militancy while Pakistan was combating it.
He said that Pakistan, as a responsible state, had expressed concern over the incident, and highlighted sacrifices made by various segments of society in the fight against militancy, citing attacks such as the Army Public School assault and the Jaffar Express incident.
Tarar also referred to the capture of Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman in 2019.
