Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift has revealed that one of her newest songs began with an unexpected Travis Kelce moment.

The singer said ‘Elizabeth Taylor’, from her 2025 album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, started forming after she spoke to Kelce during a car ride about why the Hollywood legend fascinated her.

Swift said she had been explaining Taylor’s legacy to Kelce, including the actor’s fight for artists’ rights, the pressures she faced and the resilience she showed in public life.

By the time they got home, Swift said a melody was already in her head and she rushed to record it on her phone.

Swift also looked back at ‘Love Story’, saying she wrote the hit at 17 after being angry that her parents would not let her date an older boy.

The singer joked that disciplining children can have unexpected results, including a number one song.
