Ten bodies recovered in Balochistan’s Barkhan district

QUETTA: Ten people have been found shot dead in the Rara Sham area of Balochistan’s Barkhan district, with police saying the bodies have been shifted to a local hospital and the incident is under investigation.

Police said all 10 victims had been shot and their bodies dumped in an isolated area.

The victims have been identified, according to police. Five were residents of Kohlu district, while one belonged to Barkhan and another to Duki. Two others were identified as residents of Sibi and North Karachi, police said.

The residence of the remaining victim was not specified in the information provided by police.

The bodies were transferred to Rara Sham Hospital, police said, while Babar Yousafzai, an aide to Balochistan’s interior minister, earlier said the bodies had been moved to the District Headquarters Hospital for identification.

Yousafzai said hospital authorities were carrying out the necessary procedures and that it was too early to provide a definitive account.

Police said an investigation into the incident had been launched.
