Three killed, lawmaker injured in firing at Punjab MP’s residence in Toba Tek Singh

TOBA TEK SINGH: At least three people were killed and a provincial lawmaker was injured in a shooting attack at the residence of a member of the Punjab Assembly in Toba Tek Singh, police said on Monday.
Police said that unidentified armed men opened fire at the residence (dera) of Member of the Punjab Assembly Ayub Gadhi in the Rojhana area of Toba Tek Singh district.
As a result of the firing, three associates of the lawmaker were killed on the spot, while Gadhi himself sustained injuries, police said.
Rescue officials said that the injured lawmaker was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim took notice of the incident and sought a report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad, according to a police spokesperson.
Police said that the attackers fled the scene after the assault, and an investigation has been launched to determine the motive and identify those involved.
