Three murderers of head constable and his son arrested, say Islamabad police

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have arrested three suspects who shot dead a head constable and his son on December 17, the police spokesman said on Thursday.
The suspects were arrested from Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following a tip-off from an informer.
According to the spokesman, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the murder of head constable Muhammad Ashraf and his son Usman, who were killed near Sector G-11.
The spokesman said that the suspects also admitted to committing several other robberies in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and that the police recovered pistols and other valuables from their possession.
He said that the suspects would be presented before a court soon.

The murder of Muhammad Ashraf and his son had sparked outrage and grief among the police and the public, as Ashraf was a brave and honest officer who had sacrificed his life while performing his duty.
Muhammad Ashraf was passing through the Sector G-11 area of Ramna Police Station limits when he witnessed a robbery in progress. He tried to intervene and apprehend the culprits, but they opened fire at him.
His son, who came to his rescue, was also hit by the bullets. Both of them died of their injuries.
