Glaser joked about Brady finding it hard to walk away from something that isn’t his pregnant girlfriend, while Ferrell made a quip about Brady paying child support to Moynahan.

Following the roast, Bridget Moynahan shared a post on images-sharing social media platform Instagram that seemed to reference the jokes. The post talked about how “Loyal people” can take stuff “more personally because they never would’ve done that”.

Fans of the former model criticised the footballer for allowing jokes at her expense. The former couple have a son Jack Brady, now 16 years old. Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady ended their relationship in 2006 before their son was born. Tom Brady also began dating supermodel Gisele Bündchen soon after.

Despite the roast’s intention to entertain with brutal jokes, some viewers felt certain remarks were misogynistic and crossed the line. Jokes and roasts towards female celebrities has also faced backlash in recent years with some deeming such jokes disrespectful.
