US President Donald Trump will attend the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, with the White House confirming his presence at the showpiece event. The final will be played between Spain and Argentina at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19.
Trump’s attendance comes as the United States hosts the tournament alongside Canada and Mexico. The US president has been closely associated with preparations for the event and previously established a White House task force to oversee World Cup-related coordination.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has also said that Trump will be present at the final and will take part in the trophy presentation ceremony alongside FIFA officials after the match.
The final will mark the culmination of the biggest FIFA World Cup in history, with the 2026 edition being hosted across 16 cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The US will stage the majority of matches, including the final in the New York-New Jersey region.
Trump previously attended the FIFA Club World Cup final in 2025 at MetLife Stadium, where he participated in the post-match ceremony alongside FIFA officials.
The upcoming World Cup final will see defending champions Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, face Spain in a highly anticipated title clash, with Trump expected to join global football officials and dignitaries at the event.
