Trump urges immediate construction of White House security ballroom

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has called for the immediate construction of a large and secure ballroom on the White House grounds after an assassinating attempt took place on Sunday in a hotel.

Taking to his social media account on the Truth Social, president Trump said constructing a large and secure ballroom on the White House grounds was necessary for security and national safety purposes.

Trump said that military officials, secret service personnel, law enforcement agencies, and even past presidents over the last 150 years have long supported the idea of building a secure ballroom at the White House.

He argued that such a facility would prevent security risks during major events, describing the planned structure as highly secure and equipped with advanced protective features.

According to the statement, the design ensures there are no vulnerable upper floors and that the building would be located within the heavily secured White House perimeter.

Trump also criticised an ongoing lawsuit challenging the project, calling it baseless and claiming it was filed by an individual without proper legal standing.

He urged that the case be dismissed immediately, insisting that nothing should delay or interfere with construction, which he said is currently on budget and ahead of schedule.
