Turkey expresses interest in outsourcing Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: During the recent meeting convened by the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Khaqan Murtaza, to review the progress of outsourcing for Pakistan’s major airports, it was disclosed that Turkey has shown keen interest in participating in the outsourcing plan for Islamabad International Airport. This development underscores the accelerating pace of the outsourcing process initiated by the CAA.
The CAA team is slated to offer a comprehensive briefing to the Turkish counterparts regarding the outsourcing process on Friday. This exchange of information aims to facilitate collaboration and ensure a smooth transition in the management of Islamabad International Airport.

Previously, investors from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and Turkey, along with local entities, had demonstrated interest in the outsourcing of Pakistan’s three major airports. This decision by the federal government includes Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad airports. Updates on the matter were presented by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) during the meeting.
