MIAMI: A strong pitching matchup headlines Sunday’s series finale as the Minnesota Twins look to complete a three-game sweep over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Right-hander Bailey Ober (5-2, 3.63 ERA) will take the mound for Minnesota, riding a strong stretch of form with back-to-back wins and three victories in his last four starts. He has shown consistency in recent outings, including a complete-game shutout against the Miami Marlins on May 12.

Standing in his way is Boston right-hander Sonny Gray (5-1, 2.93 ERA), who has been in dominant form during a three-game winning streak. Gray has allowed just two runs while striking out 17 across 17 innings in that span, including a six-inning, nine-strikeout performance against the Kansas City Royals.

Minnesota enters the finale with momentum after taking the first two games of the series, winning 8-6 and 4-2. The Twins have found different ways to win, including late offensive surges and a 12-hit performance in Saturday’s victory.

Boston, meanwhile, continues to struggle offensively, having been held to two or fewer runs in 22 games this season (2-20 in those contests). On Saturday, the Red Sox managed just five hits and missed a late opportunity despite loading the bases in the ninth inning.

Ceddanne Rafaela provided the lone RBI for Boston, while Minnesota’s Trevor Larnach led the Twins’ offense with a strong 4-for-5 performance.

The series has also featured a brief benches-clearing moment after a collision at the plate involving Willson Contreras and Victor Caratini, though both players downplayed any intent behind the incident.

With both pitchers in form, Sunday’s finale sets up as a test of momentum versus control as the Twins chase a sweep and the Red Sox look to salvage the final game.
