WEB DESK: Ukrainian forces struck three oil depots and a fuel facility in Russia’s southern Stavropol region, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday, as Kyiv continued attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.

Zelenskiy said units of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) hit three oil depots in Stavropol, while the armed forces targeted another fuel facility in the same region.

He added that three Russian oil tankers belonging to the so-called “shadow fleet” were also struck in the Black Sea.

Ukraine’s military separately said its forces targeted two Russian oil tankers in an overnight Black Sea operation. The General Staff said a floating crane in the Sea of Azov was also hit, adding that the targets were being used to support Russia’s war efforts.

Meanwhile, Russia launched one of its largest missile attacks on Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war, with Kyiv saying Moscow fired around 40 ballistic missiles in an overnight strike.

Ukraine’s acting Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said the attack on Kyiv killed and injured civilians, calling for stronger international pressure on Moscow.

Ukraine’s Air Force said its air defences intercepted 18 of 41 missiles launched by Russia, while 23 missiles and 10 drones struck 20 locations, mainly targeting the capital Kyiv. It added that 108 of 125 Russian drones were also shot down.
