Usman Khawaja, Sam Curran confirm participation in PSL 10

LAHORE: Australia’s Usman Khawaja and England’s Sam Curran have registered for the incoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.
The player draft set for January 11 in Gwadar and will feature several international cricketers.

Usman Khawaja
Usman Khawaja returns to the league after previously playing for Islamabad United.
Khawaja’s PSL statistics from the 2020-2021 season show that he played seven matched. The Australian scored 246 runs with a highest score of 105 not out and an average of 49.20.
Sam Curran
Sam Curran previously signed up for the PSL in the 2023 edition for Islamabad United. He took eight wickets in five matches and scored 21 runs.
The English all-rounder is one of the most in-demand players, with stats to back up his skillset. In T20, the English has scored 1,970 runs and took 229 wickets. He has played a total of 214 T20 matches.
Similarly, in the one-day international (ODI) format, out of 35 matches that he played, the English scored 597 runs, with a strike rate of 91.98.
Meanwhile, in the longest format of cricket (test), from 2018 till 2024, he played a total of 24 matches, with total runs scored 815.
Draft pick
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the draft pick order on Wednesday, with Lahore Qalandars having the first pick in the platinum category.
Following the Qalandars are Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi.
Multan Sultans will have the fifth pick, whereas, Islamabad United will go last.
The draft also included diamond and gold categories, with each franchise allowed three picks in each category.
Confirmed players
Other players who signed up for PSL 10 include England’s David Willey, Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman, and Pakistan-born Zimbabwean cricketer, Sikandar Raza.
Jason Roy was another confirmed participant who previously played for Quetta Gladiators. His aggressive batting has been key to his team’s success in previous iterations of the PSL.
