ISLAMABAD: Journalist and TV anchor Fahd Shahbaz Khan has claimed that anchorperson and YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan — who reached home on Monday morning after he went missing for over four months after the May 9 riots following the arrest of the party chairman and former prime minister — has lost the ability to speak clearly and legibly.
Appearing on his Vlog, Fahd Shahbaz Khan recounted his meeting with Imran Riaz, stating the incarceration had taken a toll on his mental and physical well-being.
“Imran Riaz, once known for his eloquence, has now lost the ability to speak and has experienced a significant weight loss of 22 kilograms,” the journalist claimed.
He described the encounter, explaining that when he arrived at Imran Riaz Khan’s home, he found him standing in the TV lounge.
Their embrace was an emotional one, as Fahd narrated how he could sense the confinement of Imran during his interaction.

“Imran’s physical condition appeared frail, and his voice, once robust, now trembled as he spoke,” the journalist said adding that “it took Imran Riaz approximately one and a half minutes to convey a message that would have ordinarily taken a mere ten seconds.”

Early on Monday morning, Punjab Inspector General (IG) Dr Usman Anwar confirmed that Riaz is now “safe at home.” The development was also confirmed by Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Hassan Iqbal and Riaz’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq.
Riaz was apprehended just two days after the violent protests that occurred on May 9. He was initially taken into custody at the Cantonment police station and later transferred to Sialkot prison. Concerned for his son’s safety, Riaz’s father filed a plea with the Lahore High Court (LHC) requesting his recovery.
On May 15, the Lahore High Court (LHC) was informed that Riaz had been released from jail after taking an undertaking in writing. However, he returned home today (September 25) according to a social media post by his lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq.
Ashfaq said in a post on X, “By God’s special blessing, grace, and mercy, I have brought back my prince”.
