Vir Das and Aamir Khan set to stir chaos in spy spoof ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’

WEB DESK: The trailer for the upcoming Bollywood comedy Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos has been released, sparking excitement for the reunion of key talents from the cult hit Delhi Belly. The film marks the return of actor Imran Khan after a long hiatus and features Aamir Khan in a pivotal supporting role.

In his directorial debut, comedian Vir Das also stars as the titular Happy Patel, a lovably clumsy aspiring international spy with profoundly local sensibilities. The preview showcases his misadventures as grandiose ambitions clash with chaotic reality, involving run-ins with the Goa police, slapstick violence, and an unconventional romance.

The cast includes Mithila Palkar as the female lead, alongside Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, and rapper Srushti Tawade. Vir Das’s new straight-haired, Bob Dylan-inspired look is a standout visual element. Co-directed by Kavi Shashtri, the film is billed as a sharp, satirical comedy-drama that flips the “India is not for beginners” trope, instead celebrating the nation’s vibrant chaos and humor.

Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 16, 2026.
