Weather update: Rain, thunderstorms and hail expected across N Pakistan

The National Disaster Management Authority has issued a weather alert across the country, warning of rain in upper parts of Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the next 12 to 24 hours.

Rain is expected in Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Hafizabad.

According to the NDMA, rainfall is also likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Mingora, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Haripur.

Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Charsadda, Kohat, Karak and Bannu may also receive rain, the NDMA said.

The authority predicted rainfall in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Chaman, Pishin and Sibi.

Skardu, Hunza, Nagar, Ghizer, Diamer, Gilgit, Ghanche and Astore are also likely to receive rain, according to the NDMA.

Rain is also expected in Kharmang, Shigar, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Haveli, Poonch and Neelum Valley.

The weather system may bring thunderstorms, strong winds and hailstorms in different parts of the country.
