Google has introduced a new wave of artificial intelligence models on Monday, unveiling Gemini 3 and claiming it as the company’s most capable and reliable system so far. The rollout is being seen as a major attempt by Google to regain energy in the rapidly moving AI world after recent turbulence surrounding OpenAI’s GPT 5 launch.
For the first time, Google has opened access to its top-tier Gemini 3 Pro model for all users from day one through the Gemini app. Subscribers in certain regions will also find the model woven into Search, transforming the familiar experience into something far more visual and interactive.
A shift toward richer search experiences
Tulsee Doshi, senior director at Google DeepMind, said the new model brings the company closer to its long-running mission of making information more accessible as searches increasingly stretch beyond plain text. She explained that people now expect answers that look and feel more complete, not just a block of writing.
Gemini 3 Pro has been built to understand and process text, images, and audio at the same time. The system can translate a photographed recipe and arrange it into a clean digital cookbook or create flashcards from a classroom video without extra steps from the user.
New creative tools across Google’s ecosystem
Inside the Gemini app, users will notice upgrades to Canvas, the workspace that allows people to plan longer projects or combine ideas in one place. In Gemini Labs, Google is trialling new interfaces that shape AI responses into magazine style layouts, charts, or customised visuals based on how someone prefers to learn or view information.
Search will also receive a noticeable transformation. When users activate AI Mode with Gemini 3 Pro, results may include tables, images, small simulations, or neat grids that break down complex questions. Google says new improvements in how the model spreads out and interprets queries help it understand what users truly mean, reducing the chances of missing important context.
A competitive tone from Google
In a clear reference to its main rival, Google said Gemini 3 Pro produces replies that are more direct and avoids unnecessary politeness, something the company described as a problem in other models. According to Doshi, users should experience responses that focus on clarity and useful insight instead of extra compliments.
The model comes with deeper reasoning features and what Google calls agentic behaviour, allowing it to plan steps and carry out tasks over longer sessions. One experimental feature, Gemini Agent, can scan and organise emails, gather travel options, and even help with bookings inside the app.
Google claims Gemini 3 Pro now tops rankings on LMArena, a popular benchmarking site for AI models. A special Deep Think mode is said to improve reasoning even further, although this option is still limited to safety testers.
Gemini 3 Pro is now live for all users inside the Gemini app. In the US, those with Google AI Pro and Ultra plans can use the model in AI Mode by choosing the Thinking option. The new Gemini Agent tool will first appear for Ultra tier subscribers before reaching others later.
The launch signals Google’s intention to regain ground in the AI field with an approach that blends intelligence, practicality, and a more visual experience, hoping it will win back the attention of users exploring the next stage of digital assistance.
