Who is Cameron O’Reilly, Jemima Goldsmith’s reported husband?

Following reports that Jemima Goldsmith has exchanged vows with multimillionaire businessman Cameron O’Reilly, attention has turned to the man who has largely kept his personal life out of the public eye.

The marriage was also ‘confirmed’ by Goldsmith’s family, with her sister-in-law Jemima Jones sharing a photograph on Instagram from the celebrations and writing: “Celebrating Jemima and Cameron’s wedding, with my favourite date, what a happy day!”

O’Reilly’s relationship with Goldsmith has recently brought him into the public spotlight. Jemima, 52, was previously married to former Pakistan prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, with whom she has two sons namely, Sulaiman Khan and Kasim Khan.

According to Daily Mail, O’Reilly is an Irish-Australian businessman, investor and the son of the late Sir Anthony O’Reilly, the prominent Irish media magnate and former international rugby star.

Born in Dublin in 1964, O’Reilly comes from a well-known business family. His father was a major figure in Ireland’s media industry, while his mother was Australian, giving him both Irish and Australian citizenship.

O’Reilly began his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs before moving into the media industry. He later became chief executive of APN News & Media, one of Australia’s major newspaper groups, before turning his attention to private equity and infrastructure investment.

In 2003, he founded Bayard Capital, an investment firm focused on energy and water technology. Through the firm, he acquired and developed Landis+Gyr, a global smart-metering company, which was eventually sold to Toshiba for around $2.3 billion in 2011.

O’Reilly is also a father of four. He is understood to have met Jemima Goldsmith while working as an executive producer on a documentary project. According to the Daily Mail, friends of the couple say they divide their time between Switzerland and their home in west London, where they are “very happy”.
