LAHORE: Uncertainty surrounds Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned rally in Lahore tomorrow, as the district administration remains undecided on whether to grant permission while the police has also started crackdown on PTI activists.

Despite three petitions from PTI leaders, no clearance has been issued and the district administration approval is still pending.

Former prime minister Imran Khan, speaking from Adiala Jail, has warned of a mass resistance if the rally is blocked.

“It is a ‘do or die’ situation for us,” Khan said, urging his supporters not to fear arrest and vowing to “fill jails” if the government attempts to prevent the event.

He emphasized that the rally is crucial for PTI, declaring, “PTI and the whole nation will come out.”

Meanwhile, PTI is pushing ahead with rally preparations. Awais Younis, PTI’s General Secretary for Lahore, has mobilized party officials to ensure the rally’s success, stating that Lahore’s passionate supporters, known as “Zinda Dilan Lahore,” will once again prove their loyalty to the party.

Convoys from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and groups from across Punjab are expected to converge in Lahore. PTI members of the assembly and ticket holders will also join the event to show internal party support.

As the rally, scheduled for September 21, draws near, PTI has vowed to proceed despite the ongoing police raids, arrests, and legal hurdles. The party’s leadership, including Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, confirmed the rally would go ahead, whether or not local authorities grant the necessary permissions.
