Writ of the state will be maintained in Balochistan: CM Bugti

QUETTA: The Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti on Saturday declared that “writ of [Pakistani] state will be maintained at any cost”.

The CM reviewed the overall successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Panjgur, Balochistan aimed at wiping out “anti-state elements” from the region.

While paying tribute to the soldiers involved in the operation, the CM expressed his satisfaction with how the operation was conducted.

“The security forces conducted a successful operation in Panjgur, killing the anti-state elements”, he said. Bugti stated that the “elements” involved in attacks on innocent citizens and security forces did not “deserve any leniency”.

“Those who have attacked innocent citizens and security forces do not deserve any concession,” CM Bugti said.

The Balochistan CM paid tribute to the security forces for the successful operation, stating that “there can be no compromise with the enemies of the people and the state”.

“The entire nation is proud of its brave security forces”, he added.

On Saturday, the security forces carried out an IBO in Panjgur. The security troops managed to kill two terrorists while arms and explosive materials were recovered from the site. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced the news in a press release on Saturday.

In the press release, the ISPR said that the terrorists were involved in “numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent civilians in the area”.

The military’s media wing went on to state that the security forces were determined to “thwart attempts of sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan”.
