Zimbabwe set to chase after Sri Lanka choose to field at Pindi Stadium

RAWALPINDI: In the second match of the three-nation series, Sri Lanka won the toss against Zimbabwe and chose to field first.

After the toss at Rawalpindi Stadium, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka said the pitch had already been used and there was dew, which influenced their decision to field. He said that their aim would be to restrict Zimbabwe to a low score.

Zimbabwean captain Sikandar Raza said at the toss that when they bat first, they try to score as many runs as possible.

“I am not in favour of setting a target,” he added. He noted that the wicket looks very similar to Pindi conditions. He also confirmed that Zimbabwe would not be making any changes to their team.
