aespa: “Whiplash” debuts on Billboard 200

WEB DESK: K-pop girl group aespa reached a huge achievement with the release of their new mini album “Whiplash”.

According to Soompi, Whiplash debuted at number 50 on the Billboard 200 for the week ending November 9. This marks the sixth consecutive album for the South Korean girl group to enter the chart.

Previously, “Savage”, “Girls”, “MY WORLD”, “Drama” and “Armageddon” performed extremely well at the prestigious chart.

aespa has become the first k-pop girl group to have six albums in the top 50 of the Billboard 200.

The title track, also titled whiplash, also set new records for the girl group on the Billboard’s charts. The song peaked at number five on the Global Excl. US chart in its second week. This make it aespa’s first single to break into the top five.

Similarity, Whiplash climbed to the number eight spot on the Global 200 chart, marking the group’s first entry into the top ten.

On the other Billboard charts, Whiplash secured the number two position on the World Albums chart and debuted at number nine on the Top Albums Sales, Top Current Album Sales and the Independent Albums charts.
