CALIFORNIA: Angus Cloud has died due to an accidental overdose, according to the Alameda County Coroner’s Office. The confirmation came in an official statement provided to Variety on Thursday.
According to media reports, the cause of Cloud’s untimely demise has been attributed to an “acute intoxication due to combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and benzodiazepines,” as detailed by the Coroner’s Office.
The incident unfolded on July 31 at 11:30 am, when Oakland police officers swiftly responded to an emergency call. Tragically, Cloud was pronounced dead at the scene. His passing comes in the wake of a profound personal loss, as he was grappling with the recent death of his father, who had been laid to rest just a week before.

In a heartfelt statement, Cloud’s family shared their grief and a poignant message of support for those battling mental health issues, saying, “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
Angus Cloud’s ascent to stardom was meteoric, with his portrayal of Fez, a beloved drug dealer, in Euphoria being his first foray into Hollywood. His talent and charm catapulted him into the limelight, leading to appearances in music videos for artists like Noah Cyrus, Juice Wrld, Karol G, and Becky G. He further showcased his acting prowess in the 2021 drama North Hollywood and the 2023 movie The Line before his untimely passing.
Posthumously, Cloud’s credits include films such as Your Lucky Day, Freaky Tales, and an untitled monster movie helmed by the directors of “Scream VI.”
His untimely departure has left a void in the entertainment industry, as Cloud was poised to reprise his role in the highly anticipated third season of Euphoria, which had not yet commenced production.
Meanwhile, HBO expressed deep sorrow at the news, stating, “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
