Arshad Nadeem among Pakistan’s top Google searches in 2024

WEB DESK: Iranian photographer Abbas Attar led the list of most-searched personalities, followed by Lebanese-American poet Etel Adnan and Pakistani Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem, according to the Google “Year in Search 2024” list.

Google’s annual “Year in Search 2024,” sheds light on the top trends in Pakistan across sports, entertainment, food, and technology. The report reflects the country’s evolving digital interests and cultural inclinations.

CRICKET TOPS SEARCH TRENDS

Cricket dominated the search charts, driven by major events like the ICC T20 World Cup and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024. Fans also searched extensively for matches involving Pakistan and popular players like Shoaib Malik.

PEOPLE AND PERSONALITIES

Searches for prominent global and local figures captured public attention. Iranian photographer Abbas Attar led the list, followed by Lebanese-American poet Etel Adnan and Pakistani Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem.

Sana Javed, Shoaib Malik, Sajid Khan, Minahil Malik and Hareem Shah were also amongst the most searched personalities on Google 2024.

ENTERTAINMENT

Entertainment remained a favorite category, with Pakistani dramas like Ishq Murshid and Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum leading searches. Bollywood films such as Animal, Dunki, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Stree 2 also trended, alongside reality shows like Bigg Boss and Mirzapur Season 3.
