Chasing shadows of Bigfoot in the Colorado wilds

A recently surfaced video on social media appears to have captured the enigmatic “Bigfoot” creature leisurely strolling through the rugged landscapes of Colorado. This viral post has sparked spirited discussions among internet users, garnering millions of views on Twitter.

Bigfoot, also referred to as Sasquatch, is supposedly a mythical creature – although Bigfoot enthusiasts would disagree – who looks like a large and hairy human and is purported to inhabit forests in North America, particularly in the Pacific Northwest.

The video was initially uploaded on Facebook by Shannon Parker, who chanced upon this extraordinary sight during a journey along the scenic Durango and Silverton railroad on October 8. Accompanied by Stetson Tyler and another passenger named Brandon, they observed what appeared to be a figure calmly traversing the canyon.

Given the considerable distance, the trio could only observe and speculate about what they were witnessing. Eventually, the notion dawned on them that they might be in the presence of the legendary Bigfoot.

Parker managed to capture several images of the mysterious creature in the San Juan National Forest, while Brandon recorded the intriguing video clip. In the footage, the supposed Sasquatch is seen taking a rest, seemingly fatigued from its hike. The astonishing discovery by the trio ignited vibrant discussions across social media, with equal doses of humour, surprise, and skepticism.

The video also gave way to a storm of memes of a full range of topics, from a commentary on low resolution cameras at such moments to Halloween pranks.

Some social media users were quick to resolve the mystery – or adding to it – depending upon how you look at it. One user posted a video of South Korean Singer Jungkook walking through the same terrain, apparently in search of some ice.

However, enthusiastic Bigfoot believers found the video to be highly compelling, with some even drawing comparisons to the iconic Patterson-Gimlin footage from the 1960s. Others likened the unidentified creature’s appearance to Chewbacca from Star Wars.

On the other hand, skeptics raised questions about the sighting’s authenticity, suggesting that it might be a well-executed prank. They remarked, “They are elusive because they take their costumes off after you get your shot.”

Some even suggested that the passengers might have witnessed a person donning a Sasquatch costume to amuse riders on passing trains, while a few speculated it might be a pre-Halloween prank. Notably, this is not the sole recent Bigfoot sighting. Earlier this year, two individuals claimed to have encountered the elusive creature in a different North American forest.

Whether it marked a genuine encounter with a legendary enigma or simply another case of mistaken identity, the mystery endures!
