ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Sunday that Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be observed on Saturday, September 6, 2025, as the moon for Rabi-ul-Awwal was not sighted.

The meeting of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Secretariat. Representatives from the Islamabad zonal committee, SUPARCO, the Meteorological Department, and the Ministry of Science and Technology participated.

The chairman of the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee said no evidence of moon sighting had been received from any part of Pakistan.

Earlier, the moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal was not sighted in Lahore either, with the Zonal Ruet-i-Hilal Committee attributing this to cloudy weather. The Meteorological Department also stated that rain and overcast conditions had further reduced the chances of sighting.

On the public holiday, all educational institutions—including schools, colleges, and universities—will remain closed. Similarly, banks and markets will also observe closure.
