WEB DESK: Renowned Pakistani actor and musician Farhan Saeed, formerly part of the popular musical group Jal alongside Atif Aslam, recently opened up about his past encounters with Bollywood movie opportunities.
Speaking to Something Haute, Saeed shared insights into the time when the band was gaining popularity in India.
The Mere Humsafar star reminisced about receiving numerous acting offers during their performances in India, attributing the interest to the band’s success. “When we used to perform as Jal in India, I used to get a lot of acting offers. You know, in India, whoever rises to prominence invites acting offers,” Saeed revealed.
Amidst laughter, he disclosed that he and the band would often refuse those offers.

Notably, Saeed recounted an incident where he nearly signed a Bollywood movie. “I was locked in a movie with Mithun Chakroborthy’s son. We met and they finalised me for a musician’s role,” he shared.
Expressing gratitude for ultimately declining the opportunity, he stated, “Thankfully, I didn’t do it.” Saeed revealed that the movie, initially set to mark his and actress Urvashi Rautela’s debut, took an unexpected turn.
“Urvashi Rautela and I were supposed to debut with the movie. Both of us backed out together from the project after having a conversation on a call,” he added.
Reflecting on their decision, Saeed said, “We were like we don’t think we should take on this project.” As fate would have it, the movie faced a disappointing fate, affirming their joint decision to withdraw.
Although Farhan Saeed has found success in TV dramas, his foray into movie took time. Initially set to play the lead in Karachi Se Lahore 3 alongside Kubra Khan, he had to withdraw due to prior commitments.
“I was offered the lead in Karachi Se Lahore 3 with Kubra Khan, but unfortunately, I had to opt out because of my music tours and concerts that I had already committed to,” he explained.
In 2019, Saeed’s debut lead role in the romantic comedy Tich Button, co-produced by his wife Urwa Hocane under Shooting Star Studio, faced delays before its 2022 release.
