Film actress Meera reports multi-million-rupee theft

LAHORE: Renowned Pakistani actor and TV host, Meera, has lodged a formal complaint with Lahore police, alleging a high-value theft at her residence.
The incident, which transpired on Thursday, prompted the Baaji star to file an application with Defence police, detailing the disappearance of jewelry and a watch worth millions.
Meera, whose real name is Irtaza Rabab, asserted that the theft occurred while she was away from her home. The 46-year-old celebrity accused one of her domestic workers of pilfering her personal belongings, including two diamond sets, a wristwatch, and other valuable jewelry.

Providing an account of the incident, Meera informed the Defence police that she returned home late at midnight after a shopping excursion, only to discover the absence of her prized possessions. The actor identified one of her employees, Qasim, as a suspect, stating that he was nowhere to be found, and attempts to reach him on his mobile phone proved futile.
Expressing the gravity of the situation, Meera disclosed that the stolen jewelry and watches amounted to a staggering Rs10 million. Urging swift action, she called upon the police to apprehend the nominated suspect and recover the pilfered items.
In response to the complaint, law enforcement authorities initiated raids in an effort to locate the suspect, who remains at large.
Meera, a seasoned figure in the Pakistani showbiz industry, has been an influential presence since her debut in 1995. Garnering nationwide acclaim in 1999 for her lead role in Khilona, she solidified her status as an integral part of Lollywood during the 90s.
As the police intensify their efforts to resolve the case, the incident has added a dramatic twist to the narrative of Meera’s enduring career.
