Holland’s rare insight on dating Zendaya

LOS ANGELES: Tom Holland and Zendaya maintain a relatively private relationship, but the Spider-Man star recently shared insights on his love life in a podcast on Tuesday.

The couple have been romantically linked for years since co-starring in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. On social media they are widely viewed as an iconic pair and ‘couple goals’ for their wholesome friends-to-lovers romance.

Holland was a guest on the July 3 episode of the Wondery podcast “SmartLess,” hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, where he was asked about being cast as Spider-Man and the responsibility of being a role model.

“I understand the responsibility. I’m lucky that I have someone like Zendaya in my life,” Holland said. “It’s interesting being in a romantic relationship with someone that is in the same boat as you. You can share your experiences and all that sort of stuff. And that’s worth its weight in gold.”

While the pair have wished each other happy birthday over the years and left comments on one another’s Instagram posts, Holland’s remarks on the “SmartLess” Instagram posts are among the first where he explicitly states that they are in a romantic relationship.

In June, he joked in an interview with BuzzFeed that he had “limited rizz” because he’s “locked up”. Rizz refers to charm when you’re flirting with someone.

“I’m happy and in love, so I’ve got no need for rizz,” he said, not specifically saying he’s dating Zendaya. Holland then joked that Zendaya sends him “non-stop” memes on social media.

In an episode of Jay Shetty’s podcast, Holland remarked, “my relationship is the thing I keep most sacred. I don’t talk about it.”

“We both feel like that is the healthiest way for us to move on as a couple, so I do try to keep as removed from Hollywood as possible,” he elaborated.
