LOS ANGELES: The pop icon Britney Spears has broken her silence on her recent divorce with her third husband Sam Asghari in an emotional Instagram post.
Spears took to her Instagram and posted a video of herself dancing and penned a heartfelt note confirming that her 14-month marriage has come to an end.
“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together,” Spears wrote in her caption. “6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!! But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!!”

Meanwhile, the Gimme More singer also opened up about her struggles, thanking her friends for their support and acknowledging that her public image doesn’t reflect her true emotions. She expressed frustration about having to hide her vulnerabilities and spoke about her longing for unconditional love and support from her family.
The Instagram caption was accompanied by a video of Spears dancing to Janet Jackson’s song If where the lyrics resonated with her feelings of longing and limitation.
According to Variety, Spears has hired Hollywood divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, along with her long-standing attorney Mathew Rosengart, who previously helped her end her 13-year conservatorship in 2021. Asghari filed for divorce on August 16, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Earlier, reports had emerged that Asghari was challenging their prenuptial agreement, but a representative for him denied these claims. Spears’ conservatorship, which had restricted her personal decisions, was terminated in November 2021, allowing her to marry Asghari six months later.
Spears’ marriage to Asghari marked her third union, with no children shared between them. She has two teenage sons from her second marriage to Kevin Federline, and her brief first marriage was annulled after 55 hours.
