NEW YORK: Court documents released on Thursday revealed that a lawsuit accusing actor Jonathan Majors of assault and defamation was dismissed.
The civil lawsuit was filed in New York in March of this year and alleged that Majors wanted to kill his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in an incident in which he started “hitting her head against the marble floor while strangling her until she felt she could no longer breathe.” That was one incident in what Jabbari claims was a “pattern of pervasive domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended through 2023.”
The alleged defamation occurred after Majors appeared on ABC and claimed that his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari was lying about the abuse she claimed to experience at the hands of Majors.
The documents released Thursday confirm that Jabbari filed a stipulation of dismissal with prejudice, meaning both parties agreed to dismiss the case and that the same claims could not be refiled.

MAJOR’S GUILTY VERDICT
The lawsuit was filed following an earlier guilty verdict which found that Majors had committed misdemeanour assault in the third degree, recklessly causing physical injury, and harassment in the second degree. However, he was found not guilty of misdemeanour assault in the third degree with intent to cause physical injury. The incident in question involved a fight that erupted between Majors and Jabbari while they were sat next to each other in a car. Majors received a text message that allegedly read “I wish I were kissing you,” which Jabbari believed was evidence of infidelity, leading her to take the phone from her then partner.
Majors reportedly tried “pry the phone” from her fingers, twisting her arm in the process, before she felt a hard blow against her head. Video surveillance shows the aftermath, as Majors left the car running with Jabbari following him.
After the guilty verdict, Majors, who was beginning to make a name for himself in Hollywood following his appearance in Creed 3, was dropped by Marvel. The actor was set to be the primary villain of phase five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He had already played Kang the Conqueror in both the Disney Plus series Loki as well as Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors was set to star in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, before Marvel scrapped the film, instead opting to bring back Robert Downey Jr. who will play Dr. Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.
