MrBeast becomes first YouTuber to reach 300 million subscribers

300 million subscribers

Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first YouTuber to reach 300 million subscribers. This achievement comes just over a month after he surpassed the Indian music label T-Series to become the most-subscribed channel on the platform on July 10, 2024.

T-Series previously outpaced Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie to reach 200 million subscribers. However, on June 1, MrBeast overtook T-Series, solidifying his position at the top. Since then, his subscriber count has continued to rise rapidly.

MrBeast and PewDiePie have a story of their own as well. In August 2023, the two YouTube giants met in real life for the first time. Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg was for the longest time the king of YouTube, breaking every subscriber record on the platform (as an individual) for years and years on end culminating in over 111 million subscribers. While his title was taken from him back in 2019 after a long battle with the T-Series network, he wasn’t beaten by another individual content creator until November 2022: Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, with 148 million subs.

Now MrBeast has surpassed even his own record with more than doubling his subscribers. He celebrated the achievement on X (formerly Twitter), sharing a screenshot of his follower count with the caption, “I remember freaking out when I hit 300 subscribers 11 years ago… lol.”

Fans of MrBeast inundated his comments with congratulations and well-wishes. One user wrote, “Today, I will bless 50 lucky winners, tell me how much you need, maximum is $500,000.” Another praised his perseverance, “You’re a real pirate, you never gave up and you kept smashing hard. A true example of what dedication and consistency can lead to.”

An Elon Musk satire account commented, “That’s life. It is an incredible reminder that nothing is impossible!” One user simply stated, “Congratulations, MrBeast. Nobody deserves it more than you.” Another, named BatMan, humorously suggested that MrBeast should receive a Nobel Prize for his achievements, to which Jimmy replied, “Check out the Beast Philanthropy channel, we’ve done this stuff way more than 4 times haha.”

Before reaching 300 million subscribers, MrBeast made headlines by expressing interest in running for the US presidency if the age requirement is lowered. “If we lower the age to run for president I’ll jump in the race,” he posted. He added, “If I were president I wouldn’t care about party lines, I’d just always truly make the American people my #1 priority. For problems I’m ignorant in, I’d have experts from the left and right advise me and try to find the middle ground that’s best for America.”
