ISLAMABAD: Nearly 190 Pakistanis gathered in Islamabad on May 3, 2025, for a unique singles event aimed at providing a culturally respectful platform for individuals seeking life partners. The event was organised by Muzz – one of the world’s largest Muslim marriage app with over 15 million members.
A report by Arab News said that the gathering is part of a series of matchmaking events under the banner “Baat Pakki”. The event drew participants from different age groups, ranging from 22 to over 40 year olds.
Keeping the local cultural norms intact, the event necessitated that each attendee was accompanied by a chaperone. The event included structured interaction, with singles first meeting within their age group before expanding to others. Muzz staff facilitated the conversations with icebreaker questions.
Muzz CEO Shahzad Younas told media that the event was aimed at offering a space for meeting potentially compatible people, while ensuring a respectful approach in line with the local norms.
Some attendees appreciated the involvement of family members, while others commended a “much-needed break from traditional match-making practices and Rishta aunties.
Attendees also noted diverse participation allowing for reduced hesitation and fostering genuine connections. “Single events like these offer a chance to make friends, which is a more natural way of meeting a partner,” said a participant quoted by Arab News.
Muzz Marketing Lead Nayab Nazir said that participants could review the profiles of people they met at the event through the app, allowing them to continue the connection after the event.
