The 49-year-old has been interrogated by the law enforcers three different times regarding reports of sexual assaults that allegedly occurred between 2006 and 2013.
The investigation was initiated after several women came forward with sexual harassment or assault claims, including one who was underage at the time.
Russell Brand denied the sexual assaults allegation, maintaining that all his relationships were consensual.
The detective overseeing the investigation stated “we are dedicated to investing sexual offenses, regardless of when they are alleged to have occurred”.
The allegations surfaced following a joint investigation by UK’s Channel 4 and “The Sunday Times” in 2013. The comedian is known for his controversial comedy and roles in movies such as “Despicable Me” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”.
